The Barbell Curl See muscles involved Primary Muscles Involved Biceps Other Muscles Involved Forearms (gripping the weight), Abdominals and Spinal Erectors (stabilizing the upper body) Execution Stand with knees slightly bent and abs tight, and hold the weight with hands shoulder width apart and elbows by the side (Starting Position). Smoothly flex the biceps to curl the arms upward while keeping the elbows in the same positions by the side (Finishing Position). Tips and Safety Exhale when curling the weight upward and inhale when lowering the weight. Avoid swinging your upper body when doing the exercise. |
